Philosophy and Style of Teaching
The Accordion, Piano, and Keyboard

Everyone is capable of learning music. Yes – everyone has a different style of learning, everyone learns at different rates and in different ways. I embrace the challenge and joy of approaching each individual student in a unique way.

Being able to play “by ear” is as important as being able to read written music. They are different skills but equally important.

Improvisation is fun! So often music students are taught how to read and play written repertoire. What is missing is the creativity that is inherent in improvisation. Improv can be done very simply and effectively beginning at the first lesson. And there are many recording available to play-along with so that it is fun and engaging.

I believe that mistakes happen – just like in life. The important thing to remember is to keep on going!
